PORTLAND, Ore. -- As the 2022 cross country regular season reaches its end, the USF Dons men's and women's cross country programs are ready to test their talents against the best of the West Coast Conference at this Friday's WCC Championships from Newhall Community Park in the Pacific Northwest. 

The Dons return to the cross country conference championships with bolstered rosters for both teams looking to take the next step and climb up the team leader boards. USF redshirt junior Ruby Smee had a tremendous performance last fall in Portland when she ran a 20:06 6K time to finish in second overall place for the women's race.

On the men's side the Dons have a veteran roster led by graduate student Ed Buck who transferred to USF ahead of the season and has played a pivotal role for Dons' men as he's totaled a pair of top three finishes and won the WCC's Runner of the Week award after coming in second place at the Notre Dame Invitational. 

Friday's meet will begin with the women running the 6,000 meter run at approximately 10:00 a.m. PT and will be followed by the men's 8,000 meter run set to begin at 11:00 p.m. PT from Fernhill Park.
