SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Returning to the courts following their tremendous performance at the SMC Invite, the USF Dons women's tennis program is back in action for the final time during the fall season as they participate in the 2022 Stanford Hidden Duel this weekend in the South Bay.Â
USF is riding into the winter break with a lot of momentum following their strong showing in Moraga as Chiho Mushika was able to take home the top flight singles crown competing against strong competition against teams from throughout the west.
On the doubles side, the Dons were able to flex their muscles as the pairings of Simran Chhabra and Maria Martinez Vaquero as well as Mushika and Qianer Qiu each won their top flight doubles event in the East Bay as USF was able to emerge victorious in three of the four events last weekend.Â
The Dons have been able to piece together a strong finish to their fall as they combined with USF's men's tennis program to defeat Santa Clara in the Taube Challenge Cup at Alpine Hills Tennis Club. Mushika and Maria Martinez Vaquero each had big performances at the Challenge Cup as Chiho was able to take home the singles title while Martinez Vaquero teamed up with Moritz Hoffmann to get the doubles point over the Broncos as well. Â
