Dons Battle Until Final Hole in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH. – Returning to the NCAA Regional for the second straight year, the University of San Francisco men's golf team gave it their all on the course this week as the Dons finished tied for sixth overall as a team at the Columbus Regional of the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Tournament.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
"Obviously we came up one spot short this week, but I could not be more proud of this group and the legacy they will leave at USF. They gave it their all this week and I am excited to see what develops in the future for all of our individuals."

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Impressing on the first day of the regional, USF was third as a team after the first round as the Dons shot 4-over-288 on the first eighteen holes. Notably, they trailed only East Tennesee State (2-over-286) and Oklahoma State (4-under-280), who are both ranked in the top 30 of Golfstat's team rankings.
- Despite dropping to sixth overall in the next two days, USF received strong performances from Matthew Anderson and Alex Chin, who each placed in the top 25 individually for the fifth time this season. For Anderson, the senior led the Dons by tying for seventh overall as he shot 1-under-212 with 10 birdies and 36 pars to finish as the top ranked player for USF. For Chin, the graduate student shot 3-over-216 with 10 birdies and 32 pars across his three rounds to place tied for twenty-third.
- Competing until his final stroke, Toby Briggs tied for forty-fifth overall after shooting 7-over-220 with 8 birdies and 34 pars. Just a few spots behind Briggs, Soren Lind tied for fifty-third overall after shooting 9-over-222 with 3 birdies and 40 pars (second most in the regional). Rounding out the lineup for USF, Christoffer Palsson shot 11-over-224 with 5 birdies and 35 pars to tie for sixtieth overall.
