FORT WORTH/ABILENE, Tex. - Back on the road for the second weekend in a row, the San Francisco Dons women's tennis team (1-2) are headed to Texas for their next two matchups. First, the Dons are set to face the TCU Horned Frogs (4-0) on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m., followed by the on Abilene Christian Wildcats (4-3) on Sunday Feb. 12 at 9 a.m.
After a tough battle last Saturday against Colorado (3-1), Chiho Mushika, Simran Chhabra and Arianna Capogrosso each picked up a singles win to contribute three points overall in the 4-3 final team score. Similarly, the Dons dropped a close 4-3 match against Colorado State (2-1) where three USF players Maria Martinez Vaquero, Chiho Mushika and Hana Gamracy were able to secure individual wins. Maria Martinez Vaquero dominated the courts as she won both her singles and her doubles matches last Sunday against the Rams.
Saturday will mark the first time USF has played against the Horned Frogs in the program's history. Additionally, Sunday will be the first time the Dons have taken on ACU as well.
