SAN FRANCISCO Calif. - After successfully sweeping the Art U Urban Knights last weekend, the San Francisco Dons women's tennis team (1-0) is headed to Colorado this weekend. They will first head to Boulder to face the Colorado Buffaloes (2-1) on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a match against the Colorado State Rams (1-1) on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 12:00 p.m. from Fort Collins where they will look to continue with their winning ways.
In their last outing, the Dons were able to collect victories in both doubles and singles matches against the cross-town rivals to set the tone for their spring season.
Chiho Mushika and
Qianer Qiu were undefeated as they won six straight games to clinch a sweep for doubles. In the singles group, graduate student
Rita Colyer put up 6-0 and 6-2 to get a point for USF and an individual win.
This will be the fourth time that CU and USF have played each other. In their last meetup on March 28, 2021 the Dons secured a 4-1 win away from home. In the overall series history USF leads 2-1. Sunday's game will mark the first time the USF women's tennis team has faced CSU in the program's history.
