SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- USF Dons junior Maria Martinez Vaquero was recently ranked the #99 women's tennis player in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association among the approximately 3,200 Division I women's tennis student-athletes competing. 

Martinez Vaquero has shined during her entire time on the Hilltop as she's a two-time All-WCC selection for her strong play in singles and doubles for the Dons. She also becomes the first USF student-athlete to be ranked since Andrea Ka who was selected during the 2015-16 season. 

On the season, Martinez Vaquero has compiled an 8-3 overall record in singles with key victories in her last two matches to help the Dons to three straight team victories heading into the bulk of conference action. 

USF's women's team and Martinez Vaquero return to their home courts this weekend as they will welcome Northern California foes and WCC opponents Pacific and Saint Mary's to San Francisco as conference play begins to heat up.
