SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Getting back into the swing of conference play, the USF Dons women's tennis team (8-5, 1-1) earned a close, hard fought 4-3 victory over the Pacific Tigers on Friday morning. 

The Dons got off to a strong start by securing the doubles point, which proved to be crucial as the two teams split the singles matches evenly as Chiho Mushika, Arianna Capogrosso and Hana Gamracy each came away with key victories against UOP.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH BARTLETT:
"We had a battle with UOP today in our second WCC match that was billed as a tight, close match and we were able to come away by a 4-3 score. We were fortunate enough to get the doubles point and we had a strong performance in the doubles with Chiho Mushika and Caragh Courtney as well as the one position with Maria Martinez Vaquero and Simran Chhabra as we competed in the clinch format. Mushika was able to win at number two singles while Martinez Vaquero ended up losing in three sets while we had another strong performance from Gamracy at the sixth position while Capogrosso was able to clinch the match for us. We have another WCC battle tomorrow against Saint Mary's over at the Olympic Club. 

UP NEXT:
The Dons are back in action tomorrow as they will return to West Coast Conference play against the Saint Mary's Gaels (5-5, 1-0) on March 25 at 10:00 a.m. from the Olympic Club.
