DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • In their last competition down in San Diego, the Dons finished ninth overall as a team at the R.E.lL. LamkinInvitational on Mar. 6 + 7. Starting strong, USF sat in third place as a team with a 286 after the first round, but the Dons ultimately dropped a few spots in the rounds to follow. Pacing the group for the Dons once again, freshman Jakob Melin impressed by finishing tied for 22nd overall with a 1-over-217 (74, 71, 72). Overall, his eleven birdies tied for the fifth-most in the tournament as he collected his third finish inside the top 25 individually this year. Notably, it also marked the third time this year in which he has led the Dons in individual scoring.
  • Returning to the city of San Francisco, USF will compete in The Goodwin for the ninth time in the past eleven years (dating back to 2012-13). last year, USF tied for 12th overall as a team as Soren Lind finished tied for 15th overall with a 5-under-205 (69, 67, 69).
  • Facing another loaded field this week, the green and gold will face off against seven teams ranked inside of Golfstat's NCAA Division I Team Rankings: Stanford (7), Georgia Tech (11), Oklahoma (13), Oregon (20), Washington (30), Arkansas-Little Rock (36) and BYU (42).
