SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Head coach Tim Riley and the University of San Francisco cross country program officially announced their schedule for the upcoming 2023 season on Monday afternoon.
 
"We are looking forward to getting back to racing starting with our home meet on September 1 ," said Riley. "This will be the thirtieth year of the meet and we are excited to have some great competition this year. We are also fired up to head back to Griak and Notre Dame to toe the line with teams outside of ourst region.  Similar to last year, all competitions point towards WCC's, Regionals and the NCAA Championships."
 
Highlighted by the 30^th edition of the USF Invitational, the Dons will compete in seven events as a team prior to the NCAA postseason beginning on Nov. 10. Notably, San Francisco will compete in the Notre Dame Invitational and SF State Invitational for the second straight year while also returning to the Stump Invitational for the first time since 2021. Overall, it will also be the third consecutive season in which the green and gold have suited up for the Bronco Invitational as the USF women won the team title at the event last fall, which included four Dons finishing in the top 20 individually and Ruby Smee earning the individual crown. Additionally, USF will also travel to the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. prior to finishing their regular season slate at the WCC Championships in Malibu.
 
Enjoying recent success, the Dons will aim to replicate their accomplishments from last year as two Dons (Eve Jensen + Ruby Smee) were named to the Preseason All-WCC team, three Dons (Ed Buck, Kira Gupta Baltazar, Ruby Smee) were named WCC Runner of the Week while Ruby Smee was named to the All-WCC Cross Country First Team in 2022. Notably, Smee also qualified for the NCAA Cross Country National Championships for the second straight year last fall.
