BREMERTON, Wash. – The University of San Francisco women's golf team battled to a second-place finish at the West Coast Conference Championships Sunday afternoon, finishing with a 26-over-par 890 (304-296-290) at the Gold Mountain Golf Course.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Shooting a five-over-par 221, Riana Mission and Eva Pett led the Dons throughout the tournament, finishing in a tie for fifth place. The duo excelled on the final day, shooting a two-under-par 70 to rise three spots on the player leaderboard.
- Mission had a stellar back-nine performance on Sunday, totaling four birdies in the first six holes, while Pett also posted four birdies and two bogies throughout the afternoon.
- In the second round on Saturday, Toni Sottile led the team with a two-under-par 70, tying her second-lowest score in a round this season. Finishing her final collegiate tournament in a tie for 12th place, Sottile shot an 11-over-par 227 (79-70-78) and ranked 10th in the field in total birdies with seven.
- Yvonne Shang was steady all tournament, shooting a seven-over-par 223 (73-78-72) to earn her first top-10 finish of the season.
- As a team, the Dons ranked first in the four-team field in total pars (170), second on Par 5's (-3), and second on Par 4's (+25).
