SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's and women's cross country programs opened the 2024 season at the USF Invitational, earning a sixth-place finish Friday afternoon at Hellman Hollow at Golden Gate Park.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Zach Elam shined in his first race as a member of the men's program, leading the Dons with a ninth-place finish out of 123 competitors. Moving up towards the front of the pack in the race's final stages, Elam crossed the finish line with a time of 24:43.7, setting a career-best.
- In his first Division I collegiate race, Ethan O'Shea posted a top-20 finish as he took 16th with a time of 24:56.9.
- On the women's side, Nátalie Hluší paced the Dons as she earned a 10th-place finish. Running her fourth fastest time in the 6000 meters, Hluší concluded the event at 21:24.7 as she was just over a minute short of her career best.
