ROCKVILLE, MD. - Starting the new year out east, the University of San Francisco men's golf team recorded their first top five finish as the Dons finished fifth overall as a team at the USF/Howard Intercollegiate to begin the week.
Â
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Playing two rounds on Monday, the green and gold started off strong as a group. Notably, newcomer Oscar Bredkjaer shined in his debut as a Don as he was tied for fourth (-1) after firing rounds of 69 and 70 on Day 1. Close behind, Renato Naula was tied for seventh (E) after shooting a 73 and 67 while Martín León tied for eleventh (+1) with a 69 and 72.
- Heading into Tuesday, San Francisco remained steady through the final round of action. Although the team would drop to fifth as a unit, Naula jumped into the top ten individually as he shot a 71 in his final round to tie for 9th at 1-over-211.
- Finishing with the same score in the first tournament of the year, both León (69, 72, 71) and Bredkjaer (69, 70, 73) tied for 11th at 2-over-212.
