SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco cross country, track and field teams, and Head Coach
Jordan Carpenter have announced the addition of Sierra Brill as the program's assistant coach/director of operations.
"We are thrilled to add Sierra to our coaching staff," Carpenter said. "Having conducted an extensive search, we found the perfect candidate in our backyard. Sierra's experience in a championship-winning team at Cal Poly and her two years as an assistant coach at SF State are invaluable to our program."
Brill comes to the Hilltop following a two-year stint at San Francisco State, where she served as an assistant cross country/track and field coach for the Gators from 2022-24. While at SF State, Brill helped coach multiple California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Conference athletes and a new school record in the indoor mile.
Before her time at SF State, Brill was a member of the cross country and track and field teams at Cal Poly from 2017-22, serving as team captain. While at Cal Poly, Brill was a scoring member of the 2021 Big West Conference Championship team, the first such title in program history, and was named Big West Freshman of the Year in 2017.
From July 2017 to August 2021, Brill also served as a Runner's Workshop Camp Counselor, where she worked with high school runners to help improve their performance and build their self-confidence.
She continues to train and compete with the Peninsula Distance Club.
A San Francisco, Calif. native, Brill graduated from Lowell High School in 2017.
