EL MACERO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco men's golf team gathered momentum heading into the postseason this weekend as the Dons finished fifth overall as a team at the El Macero Classic while Oscar Bredkjaer won the individual title for the green and gold at El Macero Country Club.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:

• Improving with every round once again, Bredkjaer followed his fourth-place finish at the UCSB Gaucho Invite earlier this week by taking home his first trophy at the Division I level. Overall, the sophomore finished two strokes above fellow WCC foe Carlos Astiazaran of Pacific as Bredkjaer shot 6-under-210 (71-69-70) to capture the individual title. Notably, he was one of just eight individuals to shot under-par during his final round on Sunday (-2/70).
• Seeing success for San Francisco, Renato Naula was not too far behind Bredkjaer as the junior finished in a tie for 12^th at 2-over-218 (70-73-735). Just one stroke behind Naula, Martín León finished in a tie for 16^th at 3-over-219 (72-74-73). Impressively, León climbed ten spots on the final day by shooting 1-over across his closing round.
• Svante Palmgren also competed for San Francisco as the sophomore tied for 77^th at 19-over-235 (78-82-75) while Aidan Oliver placed 88^th at 23-over-239 (80-83-76).
• Coming together as a group, San Francisco tied with UC San Diego for a team-low (+5) in the final round on Sunday as the Dons climbed from eighth into a tie with Cal Baptist for fifth place. Notably, the green and gold were one of three West Coast Conference (WCC) teams to finish in the top five as a team: Pacific (third), San Diego (fourth) and San Francisco (tied for fifth).

San Francisco will begin preparing for the 2025 WCC Championships, which will be hosted at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, Calif. From Thursday, Apr. 24 through Saturday, Apr. 26. Live results will be available via the team's schedule page.
