NAPA, Calif. - The University of San Francisco (USF) men's golf team rebounded in a big way as the Dons finished tied for third at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational at Silverado Country Club and Resort on Monday and Tuesday.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Henry Styles began the tournament tied atop the leaderboard, one of only two (with Kihei Akina, Brigham Young) to shoot a 65 (-7) in round one. William Svanström (69/-3) and Nils Svanberg (70/-2) also opened under par.
- In round two, Theo Anderson was on fire as the only Don to shoot under par (69/-3), and USF stayed hot near the top of the leaderboard after 36 holes. Styles charged ahead for the green and gold into the final round, tied for 10th at 4-under, while Svanberg and Svanström tied for 15th at 3-under.
- Anderson continued to improve with each round, firing a 67 in round three to climb the individual leaderboard. Alongside Svanström, the duo both finished the tournament tied for 14th at 5-under-211. Anderson finished with rounds of 75-69-67 while Svanström finished with rounds of 69-72-70.
- Svanberg was close behind the duo as he tied for 20th, staying steady at 4-under-212 (70-71-71). Styles remained towards the top of the pack, finishing in a tie for 27th at 2-under-214 (65-75-74).
- Rounding out the lineup, Renato Naula tied for 61st at 7-over-223 (78-72-73). As a team, USF tied for third with Tohoku Fukushi at 20-under-884 (279-284-281).
- Competing as an individual, Brian Park tied for 52nd at 5-over-221 (73-75-73).
- Notably, Anderson finished in a four-way tie for the lead in Par 3's at two-under. Five of the six Dons who competed also finished with double-digit birdies: Styles (12), Anderson (12), Svanström (11), Svanberg (11), and Park (10).
