2008-09 SEASON: Went 7-13 in singles as a freshman (1-0 at No. 2, 4-10 at No. 3, 2-2 at No. 4, 0-1 at No. 5)... first victory was a hard fought 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 win over Herzyl Legaspi of UC Davis (2/20/09)... earned a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Loyola Marymount's Elisaveta Pironkova (2/28/09)... took a 6-1, 6-4 win over Southern Utah's Martha Kruk (3/6/09)... defeated Furman University's Jessica Preeg 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 (3/14/09)... over two consecutive victories over WCC opponents, first a 6-0, 6-3 win over Gonzaga's Rika Mehndiratta (4/5/09) and second was a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 win over Santa Clara's Myra Davoudi (4/10/09)... final win came over Loyola Marymount's Elisaveta Pironkova 6-1, 6-4 (4/17/09)... finished doubles season 3-15 (3-11 with Jessy Mekpoh, 0-1 with Mylene Martin, and 0-3 with Alana McMahon). PERSONAL: Born in April of 1989... daughter of Duhmar and Marion Wartenburger... chose USF because of the tennis program and the City... goal for the season is to give her best in every match and never give in... says best advice she was given is from USF head athletic trainer Ron Shinault, '10% of your life is about what happens to you and 90% is how you react to it'... lists a good friends parents, Connie and Stephen Weatherholt, as the most impressive people she has met... would like to attend the World Cup... favorite movies are The Departed and 10 Things I Hate About You... favorite food is Chocolate... hobbies include hanging out with friends, eating chocolate, and watching movies... major is International Business.
