Crissy Field
Also home to the USF Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams, Crissy Field is the Presidio's "front door." The northern waterfront offers spectacular views, unparalleled recreational opportunities, and the chance to glimpse rare birds feeding on native plants and frolicking in the restored marsh.
The shoreline once housed the first air coast defense station on the west coast, famed for innovation during "aviation's adventuring years." Today, it is the most visited area of the Presidio, with patrons enjoying imaginative new uses inside historic buildings or exploring the wild open spaces restored by the National Park Serve and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, with generous support from the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund.
