Chelsea Burns joins the Dons' coaching staff following an esteemed career as a collegiate and professional triathlete.
Burns was a professional triathlete with the U.S. National Team for seven years competing on the international circuit seeking Olympic qualification. Her various duties included a balance of training, competition, sponsorship, budget management, community involvement and the development of mental skills.
At the end of 2018, Burns was ranked ninth globally in Olympic rankings of triathletes, she also served as the captain of the athlete-led team that won the Major League Triathlon series cup that same year.
Burns competed at the collegiate level for Colgate University in New York as a cross country and track athlete. She won Colgate female athlete of the year award in 2012 for her excellence at her craft, and was team captain and a leadership academy member.
Graduating in 2012, Burns holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Computer Science degree from Colgate.
