A native of Whitehouse, Ohio, Willets joins the Dons to help head coach Gina Kehr in building up the dryland and in water training program while coaching for the Ladera Oaks Swim and Tennis Club...Has focused on strength and conditioning, team operations, and developing the senior and age group program for Ladera Oaks...Prior to coaching at Ladera Oaks Willets was the Director of Competitive Swimming for the Bay Club Company (2015-2018) where led the development of a 6 site, 400+ swimmer, age group program throughout the Bay Area, The Bay Club Panthers.
Before moving to the Bay Area, Willets spent two seasons working with Bob Bowman and Eric Posegay at the North Baltimore Aquatic (2014-2015) where he worked with the High Performance Group including Olympians Alison Schmitt and Michael Phelps...Also coached under the guidance of Keenan Robinson, currently the U.S. National Team High Performance Director, in implementing the age group and high school strength and conditioning program for North Baltimore Aquatic.
Graduated from the University of Michigan in 2014 with a B.A. in Secondary Education...Was a 4 year Varsity Letter winner...NCAA Honorable Mention All-American (2010)...Captain of the Men’s Swimming and Diving Team Big Ten and NCAA Championship Team (2013).
