TITLES

  • Pablo helped the Dons reach their highest ITA ranking in program history, earring a No. 58 in 2011-12, while Dons’ Thai Tu rose to No. 60 in the ITA individual rankings in 2011-12.
  • Became the first USF assistant coach to receive the ITA NCAA Division 1 Northern Region Coach of the Year Award. 

HEAD COACHING 

  • Pablo enter his sixth year as head coach of the USF men’s tennis program in 2016-17 after serving as associate head coach to Peter Bartlett for two seasons. 
  • He mentored Bernardo Saraiva to first team All-West Coast Conference singles honors, as he was named the 2014-15 ITA Regional Player to Watch. 
  • Guided seniors Nils Skajaa and Vasco Valverde to a doubles tile at the ITA Northwest Regional, the second year in a row the Dons have won the event. With the victory, Skajaa and Valverde qualified for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, held at the prestigious Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. 
  • In the 2015-16 season, the Dons achieved high academic success named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s All-Academic team. Along with he All-Academic team honors, five members were also listed on the ITA All-Academic Scholar’s list. 

PLAYING CAREER

  • A former standout on the Hilltop from 2000-05, was a three-time All-West Coast Conference selection in singles and doubles, earning first team singles honors as a senior. 
  • He climbed to as high has No. 81 in the Division 1 singles’ rankings and No. 70 in doubles. 
  • In 2004, Pablo became USF’s first recipient of the prestigious ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award. 

PERSONAL 

  • Graduated from USF in 2006 with a bachelors degree in philosophy, Pablo played professionally on various circuits around the world. 
  • Following his professional career, Pablo became a high performance coach and mentored some of the top junior players in the United States. He coached the Boys 18s Northern California National team and remains active in USTA and Northern California tennis programs.Â
