Dons Briefs
  • Have split their first two games of the season...opened the campaign with a 74-62 loss to Stanford on Nov. 9 before rebounding to down Cal State-East Bay, 73-58 last Tuesday.
  • Take to the road for the first time this week for a Monday night contest at American University in our nation's capital...marks the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
  • Following the American game, Dons will play its next three games at home beginning on Nov. 24 vs. Columbia.
  • Three Dons are averaging in double figures after two games, led by junior De'End Parker (15.5)...freshman Avry Holmes is scoring 15.0 ppg off the bench while junior Cole Dickerson is averaging 12.5 ppg and 17.0 rpg.
  • Dickerson hs posted double-doubles in both games vs. Stanford (11-19) and CS East Bay (14-15)...he also posted double-doubles in both exhibition games against San Francisco State (21-15) and UNC Pembroke (24-10).
  • Shooting 40.5 percent (47-for-116) from then floor and 59.2 (29-for-49) from the line after two games.
  • Are +26 in the rebound column after outrebounding Stanford (45-29) and CS East Bay (50-39) to start the season...limited the Cardinal to three offensive rebounds while grabbing 13 o-boards.
  • Finished 20-14 overall and 8-8 in the West Coast Conference last year...marked the program's first 20-win season since 1981-82 (24-7)...made its second straight postseason appearance, falling to Washington State in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational.
  • Fifth-year head coach Rex Walters (Kansas '92) has guided the Dons to a 63-67 record in four previous seasons while his six-year career record stands at 94-100...USF has improved in the win column in each of the previous four seasons with Walters at the helm.
  • Comcast SportsNet California will televise the St. John's game on Dec. 4th from Memorial Gym...tip time remains 7:00 p.m.
