Saint Mary's Invitational - Team Results | Saint Mary's Invitational - Player Results
SEASIDE, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's golf team, led by Jobim Carlos' second place finish, placed seventh in the competitive 15-team Saint Mary's Invitational this week. The invitational was split between Bayonet Golf Course and Blackhorse Golf Course.
Sophomore Jobim Carlos from the Philippines finished round one shooting two-under to tie for first place with St. Mary's Mac McClung and Fresno State's Rufie Fessler. The Dons tied for seventh with Samford and Cal Poly shooting 304 (+16) in the first round. The first day of play concluded with Carlos one-under 143 (70, 73) to tie for seventh with Fresno State's Triox Tonkham.
Day two concluded with Carlos tied for second with a three-under 213 (70, 73, 70) with Scott Lowe from Santa Clara. Senior Taylor Travis shot in the 70s all three rounds, ending in a tie for 14th place with a two-over 218 (74, 71, 73). The Dons finished seventh in the two day invitational with a final score of 891 (+27).
Invitational host St. Mary's (-4) finished in first place, followed by Kentucky (+3) in second. Ben Geyer from Saint Mary's finished first overall with a four-under 212 (75, 72, 65).
The men's team will return to action September 28th in the William Tucker Intercollegiate at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.
