The University of San Francisco women's volleyball looks to rebound after dropping a five-setter to Gonzaga Thursday night. After pulling out two-straight five-set victories on the road, the San Francisco volleyball team got a dose of their own medicine as Gonzaga rallied to a 3-2 win at War Memorial Gym.

Mirroring the comeback of the Dons on the road against Santa Clara last time out, USF won the first two sets before Gonzaga rolled off the next three to escape with their just their second road win of the season.

USF was led by Valentina Zaloznik's 16 kills on .467 hitting and five total blocks, including two solo stuffs. Also contributing double-digit kills was freshman Katarina Pilepic, who finished the night with 11. Mackenzie Murtagh and Kiara McKibben split the setting duties with 23 and 15, respectively, while Rebecca Kopilovitch dug out 22 balls for the Dons.

Zaloznik, a junior for the Dons, is leading the way this season with 177 total kills on a .367 attack percentage, 17 service aces and 58 total blocks. In the Dons' contest against Gonzaga, the native of Ljubno ob Savinji, Slovenia, moved to 19th on the all-time kills list passing Jamie Schopflin. With 716 total kills, Zaloznik is 28 away from moving up to 18th in the record books.

Potent Quotables
"They went five with Pepperdine at home, and I think they're obviously going to look to find a way to get a win, and we don't want it to happen here. Traditionally again, for the last few years we've had to go four or five with them, so it all depends on what mindset the players have. We're going to be ready. We are at home and we have to take advantage of it. I can't think about the other team other than how our team is prepared to play, and that's been our main focus." – head coach Gilad Doron on the Pilots

Scouting the Pilots
Portland is led by Autumn Weden's 232 kills, whose 4.61kills per set average is good for tops in the WCC and 10th in the nation. Monica Jordan leads the team in sets with 454, and Katie Mardesich is the team-leader in digs with 174 on the year. Wedan is also second on the team in digs with 140. Portland is coming off a 3-1 loss against Santa Clara Thursday, and are still looking for their first win of the season.
