FLUSHING, New York- USF's Bernardo Saraiva and Nils Skajaa won their 2nd round consolation match at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships.
The pair faced off against Embry-Riddle's Jaime Sanchez-Canamares and Zmak Rios-Demi to finish with a strong three set win for the Green and Gold. After losing the first set 3-6, the duo made a competitive comeback to win the match 6-3, 10-6.
"This was a well fought match and Nils and Bernardo had a lot of poise to come back and prevail in the breaker," said head coach Pablo Pires de Almeida. "They gained a lot of confidence with this win and really wanted it."
Putting the fall slate to a close, play will commence in the Dons' spring season when they face Sonoma State on Jan. 18 at the California Tennis Club.
