SAN FRANCISCO—After an impressive three-game road trip to begin the season, the Dons make their 2014 Negoesco Stadium debut when they take on No. 24 Florida Gulf Coast and Central Arkansas this weekend. It will be the first meeting between San Francisco and both opponents.

It will also mark the first game in front of the home crowd for Head Coach Eddie Soto.

The Dons are coming off a tough road victory at Cal State Fullerton where they had to come from being down a goal to get the 2-1 win. Miguel Aguilar scored his first two goals of the season in the match.

TOUGH PRESEASON SLATE CONTINUES
The Dons have faced one of the more daunting preseason schedules in the nation with matches against then-No. 21 Wisconsin and now-No. 23 UIC in the opening weekend. It doesn't get any easier this weekend with No. 24 Florida Gulf Coast on Friday and an undefeated Central Arkansas on Sunday. They will also face defending WCC champion Loyola Marymount twice, NCAA Tournament team Stanford and Portland, who is receiving votes for the Top 25 poll.

AGUILAR BREAKS THROUGH
Miguel Aguilar finally got on the scoreboard last Friday at Cal State Fullerton when in the 21st minute, David Romney passes his free kick to Davi Ramos who headed it to Aguilar for the tap it at the far post to tie the match 1-1. Later, the senior striker got a penalty kick and found the back of the net for his second of the night and the game-winner. It was his first multi-goal game of his career.

DOUBLE HEADER SUNDAY
The Dons play the second match of a double header with the USF women's soccer team on Sunday, which begins when the women's team hosts San Jose State at 12 p.m. The men's soccer match will pit the Dons against Central Arkansas with game time at 3 p.m.

TAKING DOWN THE TOP 25
The Dons win over No. 21 Wisconsin marked the first win over a Top 25 team since 2011 when they beat No. 18 Santa Clara 2-0. If USF beats No. 24 Florida Gulf Coast on Friday night, it would be the first time 2011 that it will have beaten two Top 25 teams in the same season when they beat No. 18 Santa Clara and No. 25 Portland in consecutive games.

KIRKLAND EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Danny Kirkland scored on a 30-yard free kick in the 47th minute of the team's match against No. 21 Wisconsin on Friday night to give the Dons a 2-0 lead. It ended up being the game-winner as USF held on for the 2-1 victory. For his efforts, Kirkland earned West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors as well as the College Sports Madness Player of the Week award.

TAMING THE BADGERS
The Dons got a first half goal from newcomer Davi Ramos and another goal from Danny Kirkland to take a 2-0 lead against No. 21 Wisconsin. The Badgers scored in the 81st minute but that is as close as they would get. It was the first time since 2007 the Dons had defeated a ranked opponent (2-1 vs. No. 11 California) and is the first time since 2008 they had beaten a Big Ten opponent.

RAMOS MAKES IMMEDIATE IMPACT
The North Carolina State transfer has quickly acclimated to the West Coast and, after scoring a goal in the team's scrimmage against No. 7 California, recorded his first goal as a Don in the 14th minute against No. 21 Wisconsin to put the Dons up 1-0.

SUMMER WITH MLS SQUADS
Miguel Aguilar was among a group of Dons who participated with various MLS developmental teams this summer. Aguilar spent the summer with the Portland Timbers developmental academy and played in eight games, recording a goal and an assist. Danny Kirkland and Joshua Smith were with the San Jose Earthquakes academy and gained valuable experience to bring back to the Dons this season.

AGUILAR NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-WCC TEAM
Senior Miguel Aguilar was named to the Preseason All-WCC Team by the 10 conference coaches last week. He scored three goals last season and has been named to the All-WCC Second Team twice. As a team, the Dons were picked to finish seventh in the conference after finishing in fifth last season.

ABOUT NO. 24 FLORIDA GULF COAST
The Eagles have not gotten their offense rolling at this point but their defense has been stellar in the first few weeks. Through FGCU's first three matches, it has allowed one goal and it came in its most recent match against Akron. The Eagles have also faced a familiar opponent, Portland, and played to a 0-0 draw in Fort Myers, Fla. This will be Florida Gulf Coast's first road trip of the season.

ABOUT CENTRAL ARKANSAS
Central Arkansas has gotten off to a strong start with two wins at home and will play at Saint Mary's before coming to San Francisco on Sunday. The Bears have two players named to the Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference Team in Logan Miller and Matt Taphorn. Miller scored his first goal of the season against Incarnate World in their season opener.
