SAN FRANCISCO –– The USF women's track and field squad will make the short trip to Berkeley on Saturday to compete in the Nor Cal Opener held at Edwards Stadium on the University of California campus. Competing for the Dons will be JoJo Ananouko, Skylar Fenton, Eleni Fkiaras, Amy Glaser, Alia Mahuna, Kelsey Nielsen, Daryl Phill, Gwyn Price and Emma Stähr.
Events will begin for the Dons at 11:30 a.m., when Ananouko, Mahuna and Price will participate in the javelin. At 1:10 p.m., Nielsen and Phill will race in the 1500M, with Fenton, Glaser and Stähr taking the starting line in the 400M shortly after at 1:50 p.m. An hour later at 2:50 p.m., Fkiaras will race in the 400M hurdles. USF will wrap things up on the women's side at 3:10 p.m., with Fenton and Glaser running in the 200M.
At last week's Johnny Mathis Invitational, Fkiaras put together a very strong performance, placing first in the 400M with a time of 1:05.56. The Dons will look to continue the momentum on Saturday.
"Both squads have been working hard and we have some student-athletes showing us some really good stuff in practice so we are looking forward to carrying that over into competition," said head track and field coach Helen Lehman-Winters."
