
MGOLF | Dons Post Low Round to Finish Fifth at Saint Mary's Invitational

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – On the final day of the Saint Mary's Invitational, the University of San Francisco men's golf team shot a five-under with a team score of 847, to finish fifth at the par 71 Poppy Hills Golf Club.
Leading the way for the Dons was freshman Soren Lind, who finished the final day with his lowest round of the tournament, posting a 3-under-par 68. Buoyed by his four birdies on the back nine to finish tied for eighth. It is his second top 10 finish of the season, he finished tied for ninth at the Nick Watney Invitational earlier this year.
Tim Widing moved up 13 spots into a tie for 20th after posting a final round 3-under-par 68. Widing carded eight birdies on Wednesday, with six of those birdies coming on the back nine.
Senior Henry Chung finished even par over the three rounds to finish tied for 26th, followed by Toby Briggs who was one-over to finish tied for 31st. Alex Chin was 12-over to finish tied for 73rd.
The University of Southern California finished at the top of the team leaderboard at 28-under, for a three-day score of 824. Justin Suh of USC was the individual champion, he finished the final day at four-under, to give him a three-day score of 200.
This was the final tournament of the fall season for USF, they will return in the middle of February to compete at the Pro Compression on February 12-13.
