THE RUNDOWN
SAN FRANCISCO - The University of San Francisco women's basketball team made a statement Friday night with their gritty 90-76 win over Sacramento State at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center in front of a crowd of 2,231. With a rotation of essentially seven players, the Dons (4-5, 0-0) were able to take down the Hornets (2-7, 0-0) in a hard fought win.
Although much of the game the Dons had an advantage, the Hornets were able to rally back and switch leads well into the third quarter. It wasn't until the final frames when Ninni Salmi's three's began and Seilund continued her onslaught of points USF widened the gap and the visitors fell behind, having no answers for the senior from Denmark.

GAME NOTES
On her team's performance:
"I'm pleased that we were able to get a win. It's always important to get wins on your home court. It was a tough week for being able to get quality practices in because of finals, graduation, and some injuries, but I thought the players focused well especially down the stretch and did enough things to allow us to win.

The Dons have a quick turn around with a match up against Fresno State (4-5, 0-0) on Sunday. Tip against the Bulldogs is set for 2 p.m. at War Memorial. Plenty of time left to get tickets here!

On Seilund's career-high 34 points:
"Anna played with poise and assertiveness for the majority of the game, a huge credit to her there. As our primary ball handler, she did a steady job of staying under control and confident over the course of the game. Anna is really a great shooter when she takes her time and it was nice to see her play the way she's capable of playing."
