
Former Head Coach Named as Candidate for the Class of 2018 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame

Through her six seasons as head coach at USF, she transformed the women's basketball program into a bona fide postseason contender. She helped lead the Dons to their fourth NCAA tournament berth after knocking off the No. 3, 2 and 1 seeds in the WCC Tournament, respectively, to earn the league's automatic berth to the Big Dance.
She remains involved with USF and the Dons in her role as the Director of Special Initiatives for the university. Most recently, her community involvement has been seen through the NBA Cares program, partnering with the Golden State Warriors and other notable Bay Area figures to open two Live, Learn and Play Zones in East Oakland to serve area youth.
"Jennifer set the standard for excellence in her brilliant collegiate career at Stanford, her outstanding years in the WNBA, and her Olympic and FIBA World Championships," said USF Athletic Director Scott Sidwell. "Her winning ways continued in her coaching career as she led the Dons to the WCC Championship in her final season. We are proud to have Jennifer serve as an ambassador at the University of San Francisco where she continues to serve the San Francisco Community."
Per the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Release, "A press conference announcing the Finalists from the North American and Women's committee for the Class of 2018 will be held during NBA All-Star Weekend, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 17th in Los Angeles, California. The entire Class of 2018, including those selected by the direct elect committees, will be unveiled during the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio, Texas.Enshrinement festivities will take place in Springfield, Mass., September 6-8, 2018.
