STANFORD, Calif. – USF's women's golf team wrapped up play this afternoon at the Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford Golf Course, where the Dons finished 12th with a team score of 623 (+55).
USF carded a 311 on Sunday, one stroke better than its opening round 312 on Saturday but the Dons failed to make up any ground on the teams immediately in front of them on the leader board.
Top-ranked Stanford won the team title with a 3-over score of 571, good for a 10-stroke win over second place Oregon, which finished at 581.
Stanford's Andrea Lee claimed the individual title with a 8-under score of 134. Lee, the nation's third-ranked player according to Golfstat.com, turned in her second consecutive round of 67 to earn a six-stroke victory over Oregon's Kelsey Ulep, who finished at 2-inder 140. Lee and Ulep were the only two players in the field who managed to break par on the Stanford layout.
Alison Lillie was USF's low finisher as the senior tied for 33rd place at 152 (+10) after turning in her second consecutive round of 76.
Samantha Gong matched her 78 from Saturday and finished tied for 46th at 156.
Junior Kimberly Liu tied for 53rd at 159 (+17) with a lone birdie on the par-5 seventh hole.
Ayaka Suzuki turned in the team's lowest round of the day with a 76 to move five spots up the leader board into a tie for 53rd place at 159 (+12).
Freshman Carley Hopton finished 58th at 163 (+21) after turning in a final round 83.
USF will return to action on Feb. 27-28, when the Dons join the field at the Bruin-Wave Invitational which will be held at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
