Final Team and Individual Results
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – USF's women's golf team wrapped up play this afternoon at the Bruin-Wave Invitational held at San Luis Obispo Country Club where the Dons finished 15th with a team score of 980.
USF strung together rounds of 322-325-333 and finished +104 for the 54-hole event which was co-hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine.
Top-ranked Stanford held off a hard-charging UCLA squad to claim the team title with a winning score of 902 (+26). The ninth-ranked Bruins finished strong with a final round 298 (+6) to make up seven shots on their Pac-12 rival but fell just short at the end. No. 2 USC was 11 back at 913.
Lilla Vu of UCLA claimed medalist honors with an even par score of 219, good for a one-stroke victory over Martina Edberg of Cal State-Fullerton.
Ayaka Suzuki was the low Don in the tournament, as the senior tied for 31st with a 17-over score of 236 on rounds of 79-76-81.
Kimberly Liu tied for 61st at 245 (+245) after posting rounds of 79-82-84.
Freshman Samantha Gong tied for 67th at 248 (84-82-82) while Emily Laskin finished 77th at 253 (80-87-86). Senior Alison Lillie shot rounds of 85-85-87 to finish 79th at 257.
USF will return to action on Monday as the Dons host the Meadow Club Invitational in Fairfax.
