Dons Fall to Nevada

RENO, Nev. – The USF women's volleyball team fell to the Nevada Wolfpack, 1-3, Tuesday evening. In the rematch of last Friday night's match up, the Dons could not find their way into the win column, falling in four sets.

Carly Lowry led the Dons with 11 kills. Erica Ronda added 11 kills and an ace, recording her fourth consecutive games with double-digit kills. Nora Buvarp-Lavik recorded seven kills on a .308 hitting percentage and also had three solo blocks and three block assists. Erin Anthony notched 34 assists, while Camille Araujo had 12 digs.

The Wolfpack took the first two sets, but the Dons rallied back in the third to avoid the sweep. Although the California visitors were able to transfer the momentum to the fourth set, they could not withstand the highpower hitting of Nevada. The Wolfpack had three hitters finish with 10-plus kills, led by Shayla Hoeft with 15.

The Dons return home for a day before taking off to North Dakota for the NDSU Classic Presented by Hampton Inn & Doubletree by Hilton.

Their first match is set for 10 a.m. this Friday against Northern Colorado.
