In one of the tightest votes in the series the results are in. Garnering 46.34 percent of the votes and getting the starting nod is Phil Smith. To add how tight this vote was, for the first time in the series we had a tie between two players for the final key reserve.
As mentioned above, Smith captures the honor as the starting shooting guard after earning 46.34 percent of the votes. In second place and earning a spot as a key reserve is K.C. Jones who took 41.45 percent of the vote. Sharing the third place honors are Winford Boynes and Tim Derksen who garnered 39.02 percent of the vote respectively and will both be added to the all-time roster.
To illustrate how tight this vote was Smith is the first starter to not capture at least 50 percent of the votes in this series. Bill Russell took home the starting honors with 72.02 percent of the votes, Joe Ellis earned the small forward nod with 59.57 percent of the votes, followed by James Hardy who earned the power forward honors with 57.14 percent of the votes.
This vote was even closer after that, K.C. Jones our runner up finished just a little under five percent behind Smith. That was by far the tightest contest between starter and reserve, no other starter had less than a 10 percent advantage in results.
Narrowly missing the cut for the All-Time Dons roster is Gerald Walker who earned 17.07 percent of the votes and John Cox who got 2.4 percent of the votes. "Other" which had several write in options captured 19.51 percent of the votes.
