SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The San Francisco women's soccer team collected five West Coast Conference All-Academic awards Wednesday, highlighted by
Samantha Jehnings and
Autumn Smithers both being named to the 11-person WCC All-Academic Team and three others earning Honorable Mention accolades.

Jehnings carried a 3.92 cumulative Grade Point Average in her sports management master's program during a successful junior season. Her team-leading 11 goals were fourth in the WCC and her 23 points (11 goals, 1 assist) were fifth in the conference. She also had a team-best four game-winning goals, fourth-best in the WCC.

Smithers carried a 3.93 cumulative GPA in marketing while giving the Dons two overtime game-winners on the year, first versus New Mexico on Sept. 2 with just seven seconds left in double OT, and again in the season finale versus Saint Mary's on Nov. 3. Smithers started in all 20 matches for the Dons and finished with the fourth-most points on the team (9). She tied for the second-most goals on the team with four and the second-most game-winning goals with two.

Olivia Camera,
Cassidy Kaumeyer and
Izzie Lueken all earned WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention. Lueken had the second-most assists on the team with five, Kaumeyer appeared in all 20 matches for USF with 13 starts, and Camera made 11 appearances with nine starts.

This season, 25 student-athletes nominated for the WCC All-Academic Team posted a GPA of 3.75 or better, including three with perfect 4.00 GPAs in juniors Sigrid Aas (Pacific) and Larkin Russell (Portalnd) along with sophomore Sami Fairweather (San Diego). In total, 46 honorees turned in GPAs above a 3.50.

At the conclusion of each athletics season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
