MTN | Dons Drop Matchup against San Diego

SAN FRANCISCO -- The University of San Francisco men's tennis team faced San Diego at the Cal Club on Saturday afternoon. In a hard fought West Coast Conference match against USD, the Dons were edged out 1-4.
The doubles matchups started with a dropped match by Paul Giraud and Marco Barretto, 3-6. Johan Joenhagen and Ryan Maker would even the playing field, however, with a 6-3 doubles win over the duo from Toreros. San Diego would ultimately take the doubles points following a match with Mert Zincirli and Oliver Poysti, which the pair from USF dropped 4-6.
Moving to singles play the Dons got off to a tough start, going down 0-2 following a hard fought loss from Giraud 1-6, 0-6 loss. USF would get on the board with a dominant 6-2, 6-3 win by Zincirli. Ultimately, San Diego would clinch the match following losses from Barretto and Poysti in their matches.
