MADISON, Wis. — Both of the San Francisco cross country teams competed Friday in the prestigious Nuttycombe Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin, with the men's and women's teams each earning top-30 finishes and beating multiple regionally ranked teams at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course.
MEN
Chris Olley again led the San Francisco men, who entered the week ranked No. 10 in the West Region. Olley ran an impressive race, finishing 38th among a field of more than 230 individuals. Olley fought off two fellow West Coast Conference runners from Portland, turning in a time of 23 minutes, 54.1 seconds over the fast 8-kilometer course to edge the Pilots' Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse and Stuart McCallum by 0.5 seconds and 3.2 seconds, respectively.
The Dons' No. 2 through 5 runners packed well, all finishing within 18 seconds of each other. Jack Rowe formed USF's 1-2 punch with Olley for the second time, placing 141st in 24:46.8.
