PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's golf team sits in a tie at sixth place after 36-holes at the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Club. The Dons finished the second round with a 2-over 286 to finish with a 1-over 569 (283-286) for the tournament.
"Today was another grind," said head coach
Jack Kennedy. "We had a few bumps along the way but played some really good golf tee to green. The hole will open up for us tomorrow and I am very confident we have a low round in us."
Toby Briggs leads the Dons after two rounds, climbing 19 spots on the leader board to finish tied for 14
th after shooting a 2-under 69. For the tournament, Briggs has a 2-under 140 (71-69). He opened the day on the 10
th and was 2-under on the first nine and shot even par on the second nine thanks to birdies on one and four. For the tournament, Briggs has 11 birdies which tied for second most.
Senior
Tim Widing remains at even par for the tournament after collecting his second round of 71. After 36 holes, Widing sits in a tie 29
th with a 142 (71-71). He moved up four spots on the day. Widing collected four birdies, three on the second nine.
Sophomore
Matthew Anderson also moved up a few spots on the leaderboard. He finished the day with an even par 71. For the tournament he sits at 1-over 143 (72-71).
Soren Lind is tied for 39
th and finished the afternoon with a 4-over 75. For the tournament, Lind sports a 2-over 144 (69-75).
Christoffer Palsson is tied at 64 with a 6-over 148 (72-76). Palsson finished the afternoon 5-over 76.
Christopher Adnams, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 95
th with a 17-over 159 (77-82).
After two days, Costal Carolina's Seth Tayler is the individual leader with a 9-under 133 (67-66). Colorado State remains in the lead as a team after shooting a 4-uner 280 on the day. For the tournament, the Rams are 21-under at 547 (267-280).
