MGOLF | Dons Take Ninth at Saint Mary’s Invitational

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's golf team finished its fall schedule capturing ninth place at the Saint Mary's Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. The Dons finished the tournament shooting 12-over 864 (283-286-295).

USF was led by sophomore Matthew Anderson who climbed 13 spots on the final day to finish tied for 22^nd. Anderson shot a 2-under 69 on the final day. For the tournament, Anderson finished with a 1-under 212 (72-71-69).

Finishing second for the Dons was Soren Lind who shot a 1-over 72 on Wednesday. For the tournament, Lind finished tied 40 after carding a 3-over 216 (69-75-72). Toby Briggs finished right behind Lind in a tie at 45^th. Briggs shot 6-over on the day, for the tournament he finished 4-over 217 (71-69-77).

Tim Widing finished tied for 53^rd with 6-over 77 in the final round, after three days, Widing finished with a 6-over 219 (71-71-77). Christoffer Palsson finished tied for 78^th with a 14-over 227 (72-76-79). Christopher Adnams, playing as an individual finished in 94^th with a 22-over 235 (77-82-76).

Colorado State took home the team championship, holding off a charge by BYU. The Rams finished 25-under 827 (267-280-280). BYU's Peter Kuest is the individual medalist, finishing with an 11-under 202 (67-68-67).

The Dons will return to action on Monday, February 10 when they travel to Southern California to play in the Orange County Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton at the Coto de Caza Golf Club in Coto de Caza, Calif.
