MBB | Dons Announce Bill Cartwright Bobblehead

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco Athletics Department, in conjunction with The Organic Coup, announced today that they will give away a bobblehead of USF Hall of Famer Bill Cartwright at the USF men's basketball game on Thursday, January 2. The first 1,000 fans through the gates to see the Dons take on Saint Mary's College will receive the giveaway.
The bobblehead, which will honor the five-time NBA champion and alumnus of USF from the class of 1979, will be the first of its kind given away at a USF sporting event.
"I am so pleased to announce Bill's bobblehead," said USF Director of Athletics Joan McDermott. "This is going to be a much sought after collectable for our fans, and I could not think of anyone better to memorialize with this fun tribute than Bill! He is a Don through and through, from his playing days until now."
Cartwright is highlighted in a 1970's-style white USF Uniform and will be available at all points of entry in the North Lobby of War Memorial Gym, located directly off of Golden Gate Avenue. Gates will open at 7 pm for the 8 pm tip-off.
"Bill is a living legend here at USF and, over the course of the offseason, we were looking for a great way to honor him. Our discussions pointed us toward The Organic Coup, a University vendor, who partnered with us to produce a bobblehead to commemorate Bill's impact in the NBA and NCAA," said USF Assistant Athletics Director of Marketing and Sales, Vinnie Longo. "We can't wait for our fans to share in this piece of history with us."
