2/1/2019 6:25:00 PM | Men's Tennis
LOS ANGELES — The University of San Francisco's men's tennis team was swept by the University of Southern California, 7-0, Friday afternoon at Marks Stadium.
USC had a strong showing right from the very start, when all three doubles duos drummed up wins to put them on the board first. Trogans' Riley Smith pulled away with a 6-0, 6-3 over Paul Giraud at the No. 2 spot. Oz Daniel took on his first nationally ranked opponent, #56 Jake Devine but fell with a 6-2, 6-2 score at No. 5. The Trojans' clinched their win at the No. 4 spot when Smith saw a 6-4, 6-4 win over Phuc Huynh.
"Hats off to USC today. They were a little tougher than us in the big moments. We had many good chances today and overall our Dons competed hard the entire match," said Head Coach Pablo Pires de Almeida.
