WBB | Lundqvist, Alexander Named WCC All-Academic

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The San Francisco women's basketball team had two players receive 2018-19 West Coast Conference All-Academic honors Wednesday, with Moa Lundqvist being named to the 10-person WCC All-Academic First Team and Nia Alexander receiving WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention accolades, as announced by the conference office.
 
Lundqvist sports a 3.73 Grade Point Average in her advertising major. She has appeared in all of USF's games this season, starting all but one as an important veteran presence in the starting lineup. She is third on the team with 34 assists and second with a 1.26 assists-to-turnovers ratio. Lundqvist Logged a double-double versus Northern Colorado on Nov. 23 (10 points, 11 rebounds), and she is averaging 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game with 13 steals and four blocks.
 
Alexander boasts a 3.48 GPA in her environmental studies degree program. She has been an accurate shooter for the Dons this season at 46.4 percent from the floor. She has appeared in 22 games (12 starts) and fought through injury midway through the season to return to the starting lineup. She has five games with 15 or more points this season, including a career-high 20 with 11 rebounds for her first career double-double versus Loyola Marymount on Feb. 9. Alexander is averaging 7.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game.
 
The Dons close out the regular season on the road this week with a game at WCC second-place team BYU on Thursday and a rematch at San Diego on Saturday, whom they opened conference play with back on Dec. 29. Fans can find all live coverage links on USFDons.com.
