SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Ryan Marker from the University of San Francisco's men's tennis team was named West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week, Tuesday for the week of April 23 to 29, after clinching a thrilling 4-3 victory over Pepperdine on Friday afternoon at the California Tennis Club.
Both teams competed to the very last set as Marker pulled away with a solid 4-6, 6-3, 4-6 victory at No. 1 over Adrian Oetzbach to hand the Dons their first conference win of the season. In the final match of the season on Saturday, Marker led his singles match, 7-6, 3-2 before it went unfinished against Loyola Marymount's Luke Moenter.
The Dons closed out the 2019 season 4-15 overall and 1-8 in conference play.
