SAN FRANCISCO -- In the latest installment of USF's cable television show, "Behind the Mask," we take a look at women's track and field distance runners
Sadi Henderson and
Dana Klein. The two transfers have made a tremendous impact on the program in their one season competing for the Dons. The segment introduces you to these two stellar runners and what motivates them on the track.
Sadi Henderson, a senior transfer from Boise State was the recent recipient of the Anne Dolan Female Athlete of the Year. The native of Hamilton, Mont., ranks in 12th in the NCAA West in the 800 going into the NCAA West Preliminary next week. In her first meet running for the Dons broke the school record in 800 meters, she would go on to break her own record two more times.
The segment opens with first year head coach
Pat McCurry breaking down how Henderson is a truly gifted 800 runner.
Klein, a native of Bernardsville, N.J. is a graduate student in the Museum Studies program. At the HIlltop Awards she was named co-MVP of the women's track and field program. Klein chose USF because of the grad program and just as importantly, she was looking for a school where she could focus on athletics. Here at USF she wants to do whatever it takes to become an All-American. Like her teammate, she also ranks in the top-15 in the west in an event.
The episode will also feature a segment on volleyball player Anna Dalla Vecchia, the Dons' Italian sophomore who just wrapped up a very successful beach season. Junior women's golfer Samantha Gong and her impact on a young team. As always, the episode will conclude with "Playmakers," highlighting top team and individual performances from USF athletes.
