SAN BRUNO – The West Coast Conference announced today the WCC slate of games for the 2020-21 men's basketball season. In the conference's third year implementing a 16-game format, the Dons' conference schedule will comprise 16 total games, eight each on the Hilltop and on the road. USF will once again be faced with key home and road contests against Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, and BYU, and will face longtime rival Santa Clara for Senior Night to close out their 2020 regular season.
The Dons will bid adieu to 2020 when they open their conference schedule on Thursday, Dec. 31, by hosting San Diego at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. Two days later, USF makes their annual trek to Spokane, Wash. to take on perennial national powerhouse Gonzaga, an opportunity for an early marquee victory for second-year head coach Todd Golden and the Dons.
USF will have a home/road split the following weekend. The Dons return to the Hilltop to take on Pepperdine on Jan. 7 and hit the road to face LMU on Jan. 9.
Another road game awaits USF on Thursday, Jan. 14, when the Dons travel to Portland to take on the Pilots at the Chiles Center. Later that weekend, USF returns home to play BYU as part of a double-header with the USF women's basketball team, which hosts Gonzaga the same day.
The Dons wrap up January by heading to Santa Clara to challenge the Broncos on Jan. 21 and hosting cross-bay rival Saint Mary's on Saturday, Jan. 23.
A Jan. 30 trip to Provo, Utah to play BYU begins a three-game road stretch for USF. February's first contest will send the Dons to Stockton to take on Pacific on Feb. 4 and then down to Pepperdine on Feb. 6.
On Feb. 11 USF will return to the Hilltop for three consecutive home games: hosting Portland on Thursday, Feb. 11, and Gonzaga on Saturday, Feb. 13. The homestand concludes with a visit from Loyola Marymount on Feb. 18.
The final weekend slate of games sees the Dons heading to Moraga to take on Saint Mary's on Feb.25th and will wrap up WCC regular season play as they host Santa Clara for Senior Day on Feb. 27th as part of another double-header with the women's basketball team, which welcomes BYU to USF.
