SAN FRANCISCO – University of San Francisco Director of Cross Country and Track & Field
Pat McCurry is pleased to announce the signing of his second full recruiting class. The 10-person class is made up of four women and six men, and is another healthy mix of international, regional, and local talent.
"This is a much smaller class of course as we didn't need to replace a whole team this time!" Said McCurry, who is entering his third year on the Hilltop. "This recruiting cycle was all about finding the key pieces to compliment a really strong returning group. We lost very little, so we just needed to bolster the roster. Coach Manuele brought in two more really promising young sprinters with great athletic upside. On the distance side, we are pleased to add two really experienced quality athletes with range to contribute in all three seasons."
The women's group features two freshmen and two graduate transfers. In the recent past, the Dons have had tremendous success with graduate transfers and this group should continue the trend. Highlighting the incomers will be Fian Sullivan-Sweeney, a native of Shropshire, England by way of Boston College, and Zoe Wassel, a graduate transfer from Loughbororough University.

Men
"A big emphasis with this recruiting class was to find student athletes that will develop and are the right fit for USF," said Associate Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach
Tim Riley. "The four freshman guys coming in all have great potential and will be something to build upon moving forward. For the upperclassman, with
Sam Stevens and
Hugh Nicklason graduating and
Andy Snyder running out of Cross Country eligibility, we had some big shoes to fill. The experience Ed and Kip bring in will have an immediate impact on our team and fill in what we lost."
