MGOLF | Dons Head to Tucson for First Tournament of 2021

The University of San Francisco men's golf team is finally back in action this week. The Dons will participate in the Arizona Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Arizona at the Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona. The three day event begins on Monday with rounds two and three happening on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Course
The 54-hole tournament will take place on the par 71, 7,292 yard Sewailo Golf Club. The course was designed by Notah Begay III. The course was designed with Tucson's natural rolling terrain and features arroyos and steams with elevation changes, and natural hazards coming into play.
The Field (17)
The 19 team field consists of 17 team field is comprised of several Pac-12 and West Coast Conference teams. Tournament host Arizona has won the tournament three consecutive years. From the Pac-12 will be Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, Washington and Washington State. Joining the Dons from the WCC will be BYU, Loyola Marymount and San Diego. Also competing is Denver, Iowa State, ULM, New Mexico, New Mexico State, UNLV, and Wake Forest.
The Dons
The Dons are sending out an experienced core that incudes fifth year Tim Widing, fourth years Toby Briggs and Soren Lind and third years Matthew Anderson and Christoffer Palsson. Alex Chin will be competing as an individual. Widing, who saw his senior season ended due to the cancelation of the spring season last year is back for his final season. The three-time First Team All-WCC honoree has a chance at becoming the Dons first four-time first team honoree. Anderson is coming off a breakout sophomore campaign that saw him finish tied for the team lead with three top-10 finishes.
