PORTLAND, Ore. -- Continuing their season trend, the USF Dons' women's soccer team (5-5-2, 1-2) played another close, defensive struggle Saturday night against the Portland Pilots (5-6, 1-2) falling short in the end 1-0. It was a closely fought match throughout at each team was on their game defensively.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

The first 45 minutes went on without incident as each team did a good job of keeping the other away from the net.
USF worked hard to keep it close throughout despite being outshot by Portland 14-5.
The Pilots got on the board at the 75 minute mark courtesy of Nadya Sawan.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Goalkeeper Molly Eby continued her strong season in net as she recorded four saves on the night.
USF's stellar defense continued Saturday night as they have now allowed the third fewest goals in the WCC.
Sydney Cooper led the Dons with two shot attempts in the contest.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH NIJJAR:
"We are disappointed as we had some good moments with the ball. Portland deserved to win. They are well-coached and very well disciplined in every aspect of their play. We're looking to bounce back with a good performance against Santa Clara.
