SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- College basketball is just days away from tipping off and the USF Dons' women's basketball program is ecstatic to return to the hardwood ahead of a highly anticipated season.
The Dons return reigning WCC newcomer of the year
Ioanna Krimili to go alongside veterans
Lucija Kostic,
Abby Rathbun and
Kia Vaalavirta. USF brought in three transfers and four freshman recruits to add to the core of a team that made it to the second round of the WNIT during the spring.
"I thought last year's team did a fantastic job of coming together as a group throughout the course of the season and really ended the season on a high note," head coach
Molly Goodenbour said. "Everyone will be keying in on Ioanna she's one of the best three point shooters in the country and one of the leading scorers in the league. We feel like we have really good pieces around her so it's not a one person show."
Goodenbour enters her sixth season leading the Dons program and is fresh off a postseason appearance last season including a 10-7 record in WCC play.Â
USF begins their season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 9 against the Morgan State Bears at War Memorial Gym. Tickets for Tuesday's doubleheader of Dons' hoops can be found
