CLOVIS, Calif. — It was another productive day Saturday for the University of San Francisco track team, with a school record, several personal records and an event win at the Fresno State Invitational at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Sarah Marske broke the USF school record in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing third in a personal-best 14.62 seconds. She also finished 15th in the 200 in 25.45. Rayne Anwar posted personal bests in both the 100 (12.07) and 200 (25.08), finishing ninth and 11th, respectively. And Tatumn LaChapelle ran a personal best in the 400 (57.95) to place 11th while turning in a leg on the Dons' 4x400 relay, giving USF a strong showing on the day in the sprints.
"Sarah and Rayne continue to lower their marks in their events week after week," said San Francisco interim head cross country and track & field coach Tim Riley. "Tatumn also had a good day running a season best in the open 400 and a great leg on the 4x4."
San Francisco dominated the women's 1,500, sweeping the top three spots, with Anna Tait leading the whole way to win in 4:28.18. Zoe Wassell was behind her in second at 4:34.22, and Amy Quinones placed third in 4:34.52.
"It was great to see Anna lead the race from wire to wire and have Zoe and Amy finishing right behind her for the 1-2-3 sweep," said Riley. "I feel the pieces are really coming together and we are in a good spot heading into the final weeks of the season."
Kalii Caldwell posted a personal best in the 1,500, finishing 16th with a time of 4:44.40. The Dons had three finish among the top-15 in the 800. Julia Morales led the group in eighth place with a personal-best time of 2:11.00. Maddy Hamilton was less than a second behind her, finishing 12th in 2:11.61. Abby Pradere finished 14th in 2:14.16.
San Francisco will return to Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday for the West Coast Relays meet.
