SAN FRANCISCO — Four members of the University of San Francisco women's track team will be making the trip to College Station, Texas, later this month for the NCAA West Preliminary Meet and a chance to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in June, as the preliminary meet qualifiers were announced Thursday.

Aoibhe Richardson will make the third appearance of her career at the NCAA West Preliminary Meet and first as a USF Don. She qualified in two distance events – the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs.
McKenzie Yanek will make her second appearance and also first wearing a University of San Francisco uniform, as she'll join Richardson in the 10,000.
Eve Jensen will make her first appearance, having also qualified in the 5,000. And
Baneet Bains will make her first appearance as well, qualifying in the 3,000 steeplechase.

Richardson's 5,000 time of 15 minutes, 43.58 seconds is the 12th-best in the West Region. She ran it on April 30 at the West Coast Relays in Clovis, where she earned a top-10 finish at the premier meet and lowered her personal record by nine seconds. Her 10,000 qualifying mark of 32:56.52 ranks eighth in the region and was run early on in the outdoor season, on April 2 at the Sound Running College Invite in Riverside.

Yanek ran her 10,000 qualifying time at the West Coast Relays, dropping below the 34-minute mark for a personal-best 33:58.12. Her mark places her 27th heading into the West Preliminary Meet.

Eve Jensen, competing in her first full outdoor track season, will compete in the 5,000 after running a qualifying time and personal best of 16:21.39 on April 30 at the OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis, Ore. Her time ranks 42nd in the field heading into the meet.

Bains got her qualifying time at the Azusa Pacific Last Chance Twilight Meet on May 15, running 10:28.16. She finished fifth in that race and ranks 46th in the field heading into the NCAA West Preliminary Meet.

The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field West Preliminary Meet will be be held on May 27-29 in College Station, Texas, hosted by Texas A&M.
